4 Months Later

So I've been getting harrassed for not posting for 4 months. I can't say there is a good reason, just haven't done it. So here goes.

News from the Rosenlof Family - working backwards.

This last weekend was the semi-annual Friends of Scouting campout at Rancho Alegre. What fun it was! The temperatures were about 30 or 40 degrees cooler than last year, but I didn't mind so much - it was like camping in Utah. The kids had fun doing arts and crafts, shooting at the rifle and archery ranges and just hanging out. Too cold for the pool although some of our braver (?) friends tried it. Kendall made friends again with Sis. May and this year Becky too. They make camp fun and exciting. We were also joined by Espinosa 2, the Rigby, Curren and Childs families. The kids loved having others to play with and the parents enjoyed it too. We can't wait until Labor Day to do it again.

Brennan will be 12 in about a week and tells anyone who will listen. His favorite thing is to tell me that "This is the last time I will ......" before he turns 12. It is a very exciting age and its fun to watch him grow up. His hair is extremely long again, so we will be taking a trip to Fantastic Sam's before long. He loves scouting and is looking forward to scout camp in July. He was able to get his 1st Class at our last Court of Honor so he is moving right along. This next week he will be participating in the district Geography Bee for the 2nd time. 2 years ago his team took 2nd, so he is expecting great things again this year. He also made Honor Roll last semester and is the Student of the Month for May.

Tori has been playing volleyball this spring and is really having fun. This league is very non-competitive and focuses on learning the basics, so its been good. I think secretly she wishes they'd keep score though.

Shelby is almost done with kindergarten and is excited to go to 1st grade and a new school next year. Hopefully we can keep her challenged. She is also the Student of the Month for May. She also had her ballet recital at the beginning of May and did a fabulous job. She is one of the youngest in her class and keeps up really well. She really loves ballet - it will be interesting to see how long it holds her interest.

Kendalll turned 4 in April. Her new obsession is with Star Wars. She loves Chewbacca and Darth Vader. She got some cool figures for her birthday and a light saber in her favorite color, dark blue. She is looking forward to going to school like a big kid in the fall (Mom can't wait either!)

Other things we've been up to. We spent Spring Break in SLC. We had a great time and witnessed the gammut of weather. The kids got to see it snow so that was the highlight of the trip - we are from California you know.

I will try to post more frequently in the future, I know it's fun to read blogs that are kept current. Feel free to leave comments!
