Camping and Updates

We went camping this weekend and although we ended up being the only ones out of the normal group there, we had a great time. Sorry - no pictures. Back to that camera amnesia thing. It was pretty hot so we spent most of our time in the pool - which is always fun. Tori and I passed the "swimmer test" so we had free range of the entire pool. The test involves jumping in and swimming 100 yards without stopping and then floating on your back. We were very impressed that Tori could do it. It just proved to me how out of shape I am, but I did make it.

The staff has the families at the camp do a night of campfire, meaning songs and skits. I don't do skits and songs so I let the kids have free range. They did an awesome job! Brennan and Tori came up with a hilarious "synopsis" of the previous night's skits done by the staff and then had a skit and a couple of songs. My kids like to perform - the staff might think twice next time.

Ask Kendall what her favorite part about camping is and she says: "Everything and arts and crafts".

Other updates - Brennan did not make the volleyball team - they only put 3 7th graders on it as it turns out. Instead he has decided to be on the school newspaper and already has his first assignment - reporting on the school mascot try-outs. He is a great writer so he will be an asset to the team.

Tori and Shelby are going to participate in the school's Garden Club - maybe they can teach me what they learn. Tori starts soccer games this week. Shelby starts dance.

Kendall has still not spoken to her preschool teachers - she mostly refused to talk to me as well when I volunteered in her class, but did slip occasionally.

Scott is still on jury duty. Witness 17 of 52 for the prosecution and counting. Can anyone say October?

I am having foot surgery in October so things will be fun then. Anyone willing to come and take over my crazy schedule is more than welcome. My calendar is very colorful!
